What Are The Kids Up To These Days?

So it's been awhile since I've posted some updates on the kids it seems. With two at home - it seems to be getting harder and harder to keep up with blogging, taking pictures and writing in their journals/baby books. I need to really make the time to keep up with it.

Kyla - My sweet little girl just turned 10 months old. The 1 year mark is quickly approaching and I'm sort of sad - she is growing up too fast. I feel like her baby stages have come and gone so much quicker than they did with Ryland - perhaps it's because life has gotten crazy with two kids. It's hard to find the time to just sit back and take it all in it seems. Kyla on the other hand can't wait to grow up. She is crawling and cruising everywhere. She babbles a ton in her own little language. She's taken a few hard falls lately while learning to pull herself up on things, falling over in her crib and just taking abuse from her older brother. Still - she's a tough little cookie and gets right back up. She just started taking a bottle as of last week - she is now an all-formula baby. She loves to eat finger foods and is starting to drink out of a sippy cup. Her first tooth is finally cutting through - two months earlier than Ryland's did. She's still such a happy, smiley baby - is starting to cuddle a little more - loves to take baths - lights up whenever Ryland enters the room - waves for bye-bye, hello and goodnight - and just learned "How big is Kyla? So big!"

Ryland will be starting pre-school in a few weeks and he is so excited! We had an open house last week where he got his picture taken and met his teachers and played a little - he had a blast. He is starting to play more independently these days - he loves his cars/tractors and dinosaurs/animals. It's very helpful when I don't have to entertain him every second of the day - I can actually get some work done. When he's not taking toys away from Kyla he is actually a good form of entertainment for her. They can play together for awhile - and she just loves the attention from him. This fall Ryland will also be starting PeeWee soccer - can't wait to see my little man in his uniform :)
