On top of his bad cold he's fighting off, Ryland also got his first black eye yesterday at the Superbowl Party we were at. (Please note the sad picture below) Yes, boys will be boys and I'm sure he'll get a ton of these as he gets older.
Other happenings this past week...Ryland has been waking up a little later, or so we think. He's been coming in our room closer to 7 instead of 6 with his party hat on and his riding pony in his hand. My only guess is that he's waking up and having a little fiesta in his bedroom before he gets hungry and then comes to wake us up. Another new thing is his obsession with his winter mittens. He likes to wear them in the house all the time but won't put his thumbs in the right spot. So...all he needs is his party hat and mittens and he's a happy camper - who would have thought it could be that easy :)
Kyla is as cute as ever :) She's such a happy baby at home, especially in the morning right when she wakes up. You can hear her squeal throughout the house. Taking her out and about is another story - she's not as transportable as I remember Ryland being. She won't take very good naps while we are out and tends to be more squirmy. The other day we were driving home from running errands and she was hiccuping in the back seat and let out a little dainty, girly sound and Ryland says, "Mommy, Kyla is so sweet!" Gotta love those moments :)
